It's just a chocolate dream: The dough with a high cocoa content is filled into the cake tin and baked in alternating layers with apricot jam and dark ganache cream with nougat. After cooling, a crunchy coating of Belgian dark chocolate is applied to the round cake, and then the confectioners at Rabbel's will expertly decorate it, and then the cake will be ready to be served to you!
By the way, like so many other things, the creation of the Sachertorte was rather a coincidence. When Prince Metternich's chef fell ill in 1832, the 16-year-old apprentice, Franz Sacher, had to treat the Prince's guests to a special dessert. He put his money on chocolate and created the first Sachertorte. His son later refined the recipe - the rest is history. A very delicious one!
