Meatballs with Onion Sauce

Meatballs are a popular everyday dish in Franconian cuisine and well-made home cooking at its best – as we see in our meatballs, which taste even better in a finely seasoned onion sauce and can be prepared in a flash.
 
Meatballs are also called "Frikadelle" or “Bulette”, but known simply as "Fleischküchle" in Franconia. And just like in other regions of Germany, meatballs are a staple on everyday menus, although it takes a lot of effort to prepare them perfectly and bring out their full flavour. Our meatballs are made from local meat from Bavaria according to traditional family recipes used by butchers in the region. Finely seasoned, the mince is formed into patties, fried and then placed in a flavoursome onion sauce. Packed directly in tins, the meatballs in onion sauce are ideal provisions and can also be heated up quickly and easily whenever the need arises. A small snack with a slice of bread or roll is ready in no time at all, or you can enjoy the meatballs with onion sauce as a delicious main course, for example with potatoes or mashed potatoes on the side.
