This simple yet delicious dessert originates from English/American cuisine - and the word 'crumble' means 'little crumbs'. Fruit is spread on a shortcrust pastry base and covered with crumble. In our pear and walnut crumble, the crumble is made from fine marzipan. The whole thing is baked and usually eaten warm. A wonderful warmer for those with a sweet tooth.
The glass full of flavour is ready to serve and looks really good on the table. For an extra tasty kick, heat the pear and walnut crumble in the microwave or oven and serve with a scoop of vanilla or chocolate ice cream. But beware, it could become addictive!
