Exquisite loose green tea
The fresh grassy scent, the rich green colour and a refreshing taste make our green tea "Sonnenlicht" (German for sun light) an exquisite treat. Drink green tea in the morning instead of coffee - thanks to its caffeine content, the tea provides you with energy for the day, and does so particularly gently: compared to coffee, green tea has a slightly delayed effect, but the effect lasts much longer. Our "Sonnenlicht" comes from China, the nation of tea, where green tea is the national beverage.
Green tea is a speciality among teas: to get the rich green colour, the tea plants on the plantations are shaded, because this stimulates the chlorophyll production of the leaves. Immediately after harvesting, various methods are used to stop the oxidation process of the tea leaves - because if the tea oxidises, it becomes black tea instead. In the case of our high-quality green tea "Sonnenlicht", the tea leaves are steamed according to ancient tradition. Afterwards, the leaves are rolled and in this way they get their characteristic shape, that you see in your loose green tea.
Try this and other teas from our new selection "Liebevoller Teegenuss" and find your favourite tea!
Preparation:
Pour 1 heaped teaspoon of tea on a cup (150ml) of 70°C hot water and let it steep for 2 to 3 minutes.
