If you like punch, you'll love this cake! Michelin-starred chef Alexander Herrmann has created a confectionery masterpiece exclusively for Lebkuchen-Schmidt. The cake is filled with the delicious punch flavour, gained only from the finest ingredients. The cake is perfect for the Christmas coffee table, because not only is rum a part of our punch cake, but also all kinds of Christmas spices.
Punch as a drink originally from India: the word "Punch" is derived from the English "Punch", and that in turn from the word "pāñč", which means "five" in Hindi. And there the name also says it all: A traditional punch contains five ingredients: Arrak, sugar, lemons and tea or water with spices. Until the punch came to Germany (as early as the 17th century, by the way), the arrack became rum, and that's how we still enjoy the Christmas drink today, whether at the Christkindlesmarkt or at home with friends and family.
